 About me and this website

An unlived life is a way of living that you hold dear in your heart but, for whatever reason, you have not found the motivation or resources to progress yet. The vision of your unlived life can be as big as changing your entire lifestyle, or as small as a single aspect of the way you look, but is nevertheless important to you.

For decades I lived a half life: half doing what I thought I should do, and half doing what I needed to do to survive a life of suppressed desperation. I didn’t get to do much of what I really wanted to do because, long before, I’d subjugated my dreams to the dictates of society, my business, and my family.

Then, four years ago, when I was in my mid 60s, I discovered quite by serendipity that what I really wanted to do was ride a motorbike, around the world if possible. I immediately got my motorcycle licence and bought my first motorbike, a beautiful little Harley-Davidson Street 500. I now have three motorbikes and have ridden close to 100,000 km around parts of Australia.

Since uncovering my lifelong, though suppressed dream, I have come to believe that we all have an unlived life. There are too many possibilities, too many opportunities, too many different ways of living in this complex world for people not to dream about alternative ways of expressing who they are through the way they live.

Our unlived lives are filled with dreams that we imagined long ago, then put aside to manage what we have been led to believe is a more important, a more responsible, way of living. Your unlived life can be buried so deep that you are not even aware that it is causing friction in your current life. You may be aware that there is something missing in your life, and have an inkling of what it is, but dismiss the thought whenever it surfaces as being too difficult to achieve, or too expensive. But reimagining our unlived lives matters; it matters in a lot of ways, not least of which is to avoid failed marriages and deathbed regrets.

This website is dedicated to every person who wishes to acknowledge that they have an unlived life and wants to pursue it, in whatever form and to whatever extent they think might be possible. I hope that the information here, and especially in my YouTube videos, provides some useful guidance and sufficient motivation for you to pursue your own unlived life.
